San Diego Beach Engagement Session // Iris & Chris

This San Diego beach engagement session was amazing. Usually I will do whatever it takes to have the engagement session during golden hour. But, there was a chance of rain in the afternoon so we decided to head to the beach around noon. Most photographers will tell you that the light is too harsh at noon, and it can be. But having the sun at full power really gave these photos a look that I have fallen in love with. Of course, having a stunning couple really does help make my job easy.

Having an engagement session is always a great way to learn how your photographer directs you and can be great practice for your wedding day. If you are having an engagement session and need help with selecting a location that fits with your style we can provide many suggestions of locations around Southern California. Because photos are so important during the time leadning up to your wedding, we always suggest an engagment session.

Richard Nixon Library Wedding Photography // Denise & Tyler

Richard Nixon Library is such an elegant and sophisticated venue and it really is a great place for a wedding. Denise and Tyler’s wedding had a feeling of timeless elegance mixed with this historic setting.

Maria from Modest Magnolia really did an amazing with the planning of this wedding. The florals from Lace & Stems were just stunning and they created one of the most beautiful bouquets I have ever seen. DJZ productions took the ballroom to another level with their draping and lighting.

When I first met Denise and Tyler on their engagement shoot, I could see a special love between the two of them. They had their dog Boba at the engagement session and at the wedding too. Their reception was fun for many reasons. They had traditional lion dancers perform and they also had a dance off between a few of the guests. Seriously, the dance moves that we saw during the dance off were some of the best moves I have ever seen. Plus, for their first dance, Denise and Tyler really took things to the next level.

Richard Nixon Library is really a great venue and we were very honored to be a part of Denise and Tyler’s special day.

Shutters on the Beach Wedding Video // Lily & Aaron

This was a beautiful summer evening wedding. Not only does this Shutters on the Beach Wedding Video highlight Lily and Aaron’s wedding video ceremony and reception, it showcases how much love these two have for each other. Because their wedding was on the beach, they took some time during the sunset to head down to the water’s edge. There was a perfect sunset during cocktail hour which transitioned into their dinner reception. Since the whole event was outdoors, Sarah from Details Details did an amazing job making the string lights and reception decor intimate and elegant. For their first dance, Lily and Aaron did a choreographed dance routine which was a bit hit with their guests. Since I am not a good dancer, I was blown away at the talent they displayed during their dance.

Temecula Engagement Photo Session // Lily & Charlie

This was a super fun engagement photography session and it was in Temecula! Now that we have been living in Temecula for the past year, getting to do an engagement session here means a lot to me and I really love being able to show off how beautiful the area is.

Lily & Charlie have their wedding planned for 2022 at Villa de Amore
Villa de Amore happens to be the first venue that we ever worked at in Temecula and it has a special place in my heart. The venue has a great layout for weddings because there are multiple areas that can be used for the ceremony, reception and cocktail hour.
You might notice that Lily & Charlie brought their dog with them, his name is Indy, he is super cute and he did an amazing job in front of the camera. We know how important it is to include your dog on your engagement session and I’m really glad that we were able to get some photos of the three of them together.
Besides having their dog being a part of the photos, I really love how the light was during their session. Since it was the begining of fall, the sun sets earlier and you don’t get as long of a time with the golden light, but I think we got some of the best photos towards the end. You can really see that they are in love and so excited for their upcoming wedding.

Stone Mountain Estates Wedding Photography // Amanda & Christopher

Wow!! What an amazing place to get married! Stone Mountain Estates is a relatively new wedding venue and we were super excited that Amanda & Christopher selected us to be a part of their intimate, micro wedding. Located near the summit of the Malibu Coastal Range and has 40 secluded acres of pure beauty.

Because this was a micro wedding, we knew that it would be important to really capture how special this day was for Amanda & Christopher. Just their immediate families attended and they made us feel so welcomed.

I really feel that Stone Mountain Estates a one-of-a-kind wedding venue. This venue is epic, but also very romantic and has a feeling of privacy with a view of it all. Amanda & Christopher had their ceremony on the helipad with the most stunning backdrop. Then, during the reception, they decided to have their first dance on the helipad as well while their family members watched from above. Talk about the most dreamy setting for a first dance.

As the sun set, Amanda changed into her second dress. How cute is the bow on the back of her dress! Next they cut their cake and enjoyed some yummy desserts. At this moment, you could really see their lighting display come to life and the sight of their name next to the pool with that view was the perfect way to end the night.

Vai, one of the planning experts from The Elegant Ninja, did an amazing job brining their unique vision to life.

All the florals and bouquet were beautifully designed by Poppy Design Co. and I could not have imagined a more perfect color palate.

THE RESORT AT PELICAN HILL WEDDING // Sherry & Boheng

Getting to work a wedding at The Resort at Pelican Hill always makes us happy. The iconic rotunda along with the ocean views makes every wedding at the Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Coast special.

For their wedding, Sherry & Boheng went with a very romantic feel by mixing whites with light pink. The groomsmen were decked out in classic black tuxedos and the bridesmaids looked stunning in their strapless light pink bridesmaids dresses. Sherry & Boheng enjoyed the day with their guests and throughout the day it was very easy to see how much kindness and respect they have for each other.

Puppy Love!!

You might not have seen a blog post from us in a while and we have a good excuse. We got a dog!!! His name is Bacon and we love him so much. Since he is a new member of our family, we decided it was a good idea to do some family photos with him. A few months ago, we asked the talented Anya Kernes to do the session with us and the photos are just amazing. Bacon was very well behaved during the shoot, he did smile when we asked him too and he only ate a small amount of grass. If we could teach him to use a camera then you would see him at some weddings.

Fairmont Grand Del Mar wedding featured on Style Me Pretty

Earlier this year we got to be a part of this unforgettable wedding experience at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar Resort in San Diego. The bride used to be a ballerina and dancing is a very important part of her life and was a huge part of their wedding day- from dancing down the isle right after being pronounced as husband and wife- to a spectacular first dance where the bride changed out of her wedding gown in to a leotard and even a surprise flash mob from the ”waitstaff” . We are so glad that we were there to capture all these special moments on video.
